crEUw Success in Hildesheim
An Exciting First Event of 2024
From May 16th to 20th, the first crEUw training camp of the year took place at Skydive Hildesheim. This international camp aimed to help both former and current team members rebuild their skills and nurture promising new talent. The excellent, and the DZ-support from Otmar, Sabrina, and their team was outstanding. Brian Pangburn took the credits as trainer, bringing valuable expertise to the event. Ralf Stolzenberg, Peter Wohlers, Laurent Dreyfus, and Yuliya Pangburn volunteered as videographers, completing the staff of PETi who took on the event organizing.
The Training Camp Highlights
The camp focused on flying 8- and 9-way formations. This approach allowed participants to gain extensive practical experience. Several jumps were made with multiple builds in each jump. With a C208 Supervan aircraft accommodating up to 20 skydivers, the team made the most of the available time.
Despite the weather being less than perfect, the 30 skydivers from 10 nations completed an impressive 354 jumps. The camp successfully met its goals, with notable performance improvements, especially among the newer participants. The positive atmosphere and excellent facilities left everyone delighted.
A Memorable Conclusion
The camp concluded with a spectacular 12-way formation jump, a reward for those who stayed until the end. A military exercise on May 21st meant no jumps could take place that day, but the team celebrated with a fantastic farewell party, complete with live music.
Looking Ahead
Skydive Hildesheim is already on the radar for future events. A three-day camp is scheduled for September to prepare for upcoming world record attempts.
